Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who do we work best with?

It's always best when the day is an expression of yourselves both through the decor and the words spoken. Who are you and what do you love? Or better yet, who do you love? Custom vows are like sweet melodies to our ears. Heartfelt speeches get our standing ovation.

Do I get to choose my own music?

Definitely. But out of respect for the artists we only use music that we can license legitimately. We have two lovely resources of licensable tracks online, we're developing relationships with local musicians, and we've had great success getting permission from independent artists nationwide.

When will I get my film?

We've heard a lot of horror stories about films taking months and even years before they're delivered. Of course it takes time to cut picture, mix sound, grade color, build DVD menus, and package the final product, but we deliver your film within 8 weeks.

If you just can't wait, then there's always the option of the Same Day Edit! For this we spend extra time in pre-production and then bring in additional staff to edit your wedding Trailer at lightning speed so we can blow away your guests with an HD projection of your film at the reception!

How many hours do I get?

Most videographers are nit-picky about how much time they spend at the venue and some even charge by the hour. We think that's a little ridiculous and we don't restrict our shooting to certain hours and we make sure we're present for every portion of the event that we'll be delivering in the edit.

Trailers and Features both span the whole day from prep through the getaway and it's normal to spend 10-14 hours filming. In order to offer a less expensive film, the Simple Ceremony involves far less editing and usually fits in a half day. For that we arrive one hour before the ceremony and stay through the essential reception events.

How many DVDs will I get?

The finished product you receive starts with a pair of DVDs for you. DVD players are only able to play Standard Definition content, so this set contains one Standard Definition DVD for use in DVD players and one High Definition DVD that you can enjoy on the computer. (A bonus of this is that you can backup, duplicate, and upload your films however you like.)

Along with your 2 disc set, we include an additional Standard Definition DVD for each parent with each film on them. And we don't charge a dime for these extras.

If you're one of those cool kids with a Blu-ray player, then rest assured that for a small additional cost you can upgrade any or all of these to High Definition Blu-ray discs.

Do you offer discounts?

After the ceremony is over, we spend dozens of hours in the cutting room on each of these films. Our prices reflect the time spent on-site, as well as the time spent in post-production. We understand that it can be a stretch to afford high quality films and we try to help bridge the gap by being generous with our time on the wedding day and minimizing our own expenses, including travel.

Do you film in HD?

Of course! We value quality throughout the filmmaking process and we only use high definition DSLR video cameras. We feel that the difference in color, detail, and ability to shoot in dimly lit rooms make it the obvious choice.

And microphones?

Only the best. We piggyback an audio recorder onto the venue's soundboard (if available) and also duplicate this with lapel microphones on both the officient and the groom. That's three layers of redundancy. We're not taking this lightly. If there's live music we can arrange to accommodate that, too.

Wait, how many cameras, again?

3 cameras is just enough (in our humble opinion) to capture the ceremony properly. This way we can see your lovely faces and feel the emotions along with you.

Do you also offer photography?

Nope. We focus every ounce of our attention on making the best wedding film possible and we revel in working alongside some of the area's best photographers. If you're still looking for a photographer, we'd love to recommend a few of our favorites.

Do you travel?

Heck yes! When we're not filming weddings we're traveling the world making movies for organizations that are changing the world for good. Traveling near or far is always a pleasure. Travel to most of Western Washington is included for no extra charge and we're happy to work with you to keep costs down for more distant locations.

Coffee, or... ?

Cocoa. And I'd love to buy you a cup of either while we chat about how you met, your wedding, and what you're looking for in a film.

How does the process work?

Pick up the phone or shoot us an email and I'd love to answer any questions you may have. If you're not sure which films to choose I'm happy to help explain the differences.

If you like what you see then there's a simple contract, a deposit, a questionnaire, and then you get to choose a soundtrack!

Once all the details are in place we dance a little happy dance because you don't have to stress one bit about whether or not you're have the best wedding film ever. Because it's a shoe-in.
